The permission of the bishop of the diocese concerned is required for filming in churches and religious buildings. There are three dioceses on the Balearic Islands: Mallorca, Minorca and Ibiza. This permission can be obtained by writing to the Vicar General of the diocese, with information about the production, enclosing, perhaps, a copy of the screenplay and an explanation of what scenes are ito be filmed in the church or religious building. It is always a good idea to speak to the parish priest of the church concerned beforehand, to make sure the application is properly prepared.
